Let's try again!

A happy New Year to all of you!

I would like to take the chance with these words to send you a brief but positive sign of life again. Last year has been crazy for me (mainly at work), so my only resolution for this year is: more "me" time. That is more crochet, more blogging, more pictures, more creativity, more me.

That's why I begin today to show you a capture of my latest piece finished. It is the Lost in Time shawl by Mijo Crochet. How much did I want to make this for ages and how tough it was for me. Started back in Jan 2018 - and finished only now . Of course with countless several breaks. I really love it and I also used 2 skeins of Rico Design Creative yarn (color petrol-blue, similar yarn to Sheepjes Whirls) using a 3 mm (D-3) hook. It is so big and cozy! ๐Ÿ’–

3 mm hook, ~ 1600m yarn

But I have to say that I have had really hard times to follow this pattern. I checked English, German and Dutch versions. I like to follow diagrams more than a full-written text. But with this pattern, I've had uneven sides so often, although I found a diagram to follow ๐Ÿ˜ฐ. I do not want to say that the pattern is bad - it's definitely well-written. But I just had my struggle with it. Sometimes things just don't work out well.

Please take a look at the other designs made by Johanna and published free (e.g at Ravelry), she made such beautiful designs ๐Ÿ˜.

So now I am moving on with optimistic steps towards a hopefully successful year of crochet and I am so glad that you keep following me here.

Love from Germany,
Janina

Donato Bear

My dears, before I complete more translations for this English version of my blog, I would like to show you me latest work made. I have loads of ideas in my head currently, but do not find enough time to realize them. You may know that. And of course, then something like this happens. I was in town for purchasing more supplies at my local yarn dealer and suddenly noticed new colors of my favorite amigurumi yarn. Bang - picture in my head of what I could do with them. At home I grabbed my hook and scrolled through my pinterest board quickly and there he was - Donato, the two-legged bear. It is a free pattern by Lanukas , available in Spanish, French and Englisch. The latter one is definitely very easy to work. Scrolling down the page you will get to the English version, and following the link a jpg file will open with a well-structured pattern. So now I can show you my version of Donato, made to test the new yarn: using 2.5 mm or C/2 hook, he is about 13 cm/5 in ...
